Pedestrian Master Plan Workshop – Jan 27, 2011

Good Afternoon,

We were hoping you could help us spread the word about an important upcoming community workshop we’re hosting next week…

The City of San Mateo’s Department of Public Works is working on the development of our Pedestrian Master Plan. We would really like to have input from your members at our next community workshop scheduled for Thursday, January 27th (details attached).

The workshop on January 27th at the Main Library is about how we can improve the overall pedestrian experience here in San Mateo. This Master Plan will help determine the future of the pedestrian experience in San Mateo for years to come and we think your members would have some really valuable input and great perspectives to share.

The flyer promoting this workshop is attached. If you could share this flyer or details with your members via email or social media, that would be wonderful. We encourage anyone interested in making our city more pedestrian-friendly to log on to www.cityofsanmateo.org/walksanmateo and sign up for email updates.

Thank you! We hope to see you next week!

Join HANCSM to Honor National Service Day, February 5th, 2011 9 – noon

Monday, January 17 is not only Martin Luther King Day, but it has also been declared National Service Day; a day when people come together to reinforce their commitment to their community.

North Central wants to take part!  However, in order to make the event as widely accessible as possible, the event will be held on Saturday, February 5 from 9:00 AM to Noon.

Working with the staff at the MLK Community Center, two activities are offered to help beautify the center and keep it as a jewel in our neighborhood.  The first project will be repainting the north wall of the center and the second will be re-planting the bed in the central courtyard under the mural.

Come join your neighbors in what will hopefully become an annual tradition!

If you are interested in helping out, please contact Joshua Hugg at HANSCM@gmail.com or 650-200-3446
