There’s going to be a food truck gathering at the County Fair Grounds starting on July 1 and continuing on the first Friday of each month.
About 25 food carts will converge at the San Mateo County Event Center on July 1 for the Bay Area’s latest mobile munch-down.
“I don’t think there’s been a bigger food truck event on the Peninsula,” said event co-creator Ryan Sebastian, who said he hopes at least 5,000 people show up.
Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and eat on the lawn or at a 100-foot outdoor banquet table.
There is a problem of too many food carts in North Central, licensed and otherwise. Even though the proposed are gourmet food carts, I am unwilling to add them to the mix given our many other challenges. We are trying to move our neighborhood up. Now is not the time for more food carts but maybe in the future.
