It was a beautiful Saturday on April 13th when hundreds of neighbors came together to clean up North Central. We collected almost 5,000 pounds of garbage, 10 pounds of cigarette butts and nearly 5 pounds of bottle caps! Special appreciation to California Water Service and the City of San Mateo Public Works, Park & Recreation Department, Code Enforcement, Office of the City Manager. There was an outpouring of community support from San Mateo-Foster City School District, San Mateo Union High School District, Turnbull Preschool, San Mateo Adult School, San Mateo Police Department and Police Activity League, the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center, Samaritan House, San Mateo Buddhist Temple, Congregational Church of San Mateo, Sturge Presbyterian Church, Pilgrim Baptist Church and Iglesia Mission Pentecostes.

We are so grateful to the generous sponsors from our community including: San Mateo County Office of Sustainability, ACE/HASSETT Hardware, Mi Rancho Market, El Video Loco and West Valley Construction, and the raffle donors El Toro Market, Safari Run, and Woodlake Association, BarkerBlue, Unitarian Universalist Church of San Mateo and B Street Books.
Come celebrate our success! You are invited to enjoy a light dinner and a presentation from our Mayor Diane Papan and City Manager Drew Corbet on Thursday, May 23rd, 6:30 pm at The King Center, 725 Monte Diablo Ave. Everyone is welcome!
