HANCSM Board Welcomes New President and Bids Thank You and Farewell to Adam Loraine

North Central, we are excited for you to meet the new HANCSM President, Adam Nugent, and Carolina Nugent, who will be the Board’s new Secretary. Adam is a landscape architect, a runner, a gardener, and generally a big fan of being active outdoors. You have probably seen them walking their dog, Livvy around the neighborhood and Downtown. Both Adam and Carolina grew up in the Midwest and met in Minneapolis. Adam is a former US Army Captain, and since they got married, the two of them have lived in all four corners of the US, as well as in Europe. Both are strong advocates for sustainable, active, equitable, and healthy communities. Carolina works in tech now, but began as a kindergarten teacher in El Paso, TX, and is huge proponent for early childhood education.

Adam knows that he will have big shoes to fill as he assumes the role for HANCSM’s outgoing President, Amourence Lee. Her work to get HANCSM where it is today has been amazing and is super appreciated! Amourence has been key in organizing our Love North Central campaign and neighborhood cleanup events. She will remain actively involved with HANCSM’s outreach and as a member of our Board of Directors. We all look forward to building on the momentum Amourence created!

Carolina Nugent will be taking over as HANCSM’s Secretary, a very important post that was managed so well by our outgoing Secretary and board member, Adam Loraine! Adam, we will miss your voice on the Board, but we look forward to seeing you at our next General Meeting on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the King Center from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Lastly, the HANCSM Board also wants to welcome Jonah Lee, who moved to California recently with his wife and nine month old daughter.  Jonah has dedicated his career to public service in the affordable housing industry – first in New York City, and now in the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.  With his family settled into their new home, Jonah is looking forward to getting more involved with the North Central community.
