We are very much interested in engaging the broader San Mateo community which comprises a wide range of people who contribute to the quality of life here, as well as their children, grandchildren, etc. This includes residents, local businesses, organizations that provide services to the community, health care providers, teachers, police and other safety workers, etc.
A community’s General Plan serves as a “blueprint” that guides future changes, land use decisions, circulation/transportation & other infrastructure projects, economic sustainability, conservation and preservation, etc. The General Plan is intended to be reflective of a community’s priorities and, once adopted, the document serves to guide future decision making including the types of changes, where they occur and how they are funded.
It is vitally important that we hear from multiple perspectives. Different segments of the community may wish to participate in different ways. The City has extended the online survey to December 2, 2018 and has partnered with SMUHA to organize four meetings in different neighborhood locations in the city. We encourage everyone to participate!
