Caltrain, in cooperation with the City of San Mateo, is preparing to replace the bridges located at Tilton, Monte Diablo, Santa Inez and Poplar avenues. The four rail bridges in San Mateo’s North Central Neighborhood are more than 100 years old. They must be replaced in order to maintain safe rail operations and meet current federal, state and local seismic safety standards.
Construction of the $30 million project will begin in fall 2014 and will last approximately two years. For more project information or to subscribe to Caltrain’s San Mateo Bridges Replacement Project page, please visitwww.caltrain.com/SMBridges, email smbridges@caltrain.com or call the Construction Outreach Hotline at 650.508.7726.
