Forum on “Complete Streets” Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6pm Oak Room Main Library

This will be a great topic in advance of the next HANCSM meeting and discussion of the Poplar/Humboldt traffic. Hope to see you there!

Join the City of San Mateo for the second “Taste and Talk” Series on Thursday, February 6th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM taking place in the Oak Room at the Main Library (55 West 3rd Avenue).

This month’s forum focuses on Complete Streets. In its simplest form Complete Streets are for everyone. When Complete Streets concepts are utilized, streets are designed and will operate to enable safe access for people of all ages and abilities to move along and across the street.

National Complete Streets facilitators, Michael Moule of Nelson\Nygaard and Paul Zykofsky with the Local Government Commission, will discuss how Complete Streets concepts are transforming the way communities are designing and thinking about the connectivity between streets and their many users.

San Mateo’s “Taste and Talk” Series is part of the Sustainable Streets Plan, which is a long-term vision to re-engineer transportation throughout our community – making it accessible, safe, and more sustainable for those using all modes of transit including: walking, driving, biking, and public transit.

Those attending the “Taste and Talk” Series will enjoy an opportunity to mingle with the presenters and meet other community members sharing similar concerns.

The events are FREE, but space is limited. Please visit www.sustainablestreetssanmateo.com to register or for more information about the “Taste and Talk” Series and the Sustainable Streets Plan. Funding for the “Taste and Talk” Series is provided by Caltrans. Please join us for one or more evenings of great food and great speakers.
