Dear Caltrain Neighbor:
You are receiving this email because either you attended the Caltrain Community Meeting at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center on May 2 or you have emailed the agency to inquire about the San Mateo Bridges Replacement Project.
I wanted to inform you that Caltrain staff will be hosting another community meeting in mid-November. The presentation will include information on the upcoming site clearing work that will begin in December, plus information on the project scope/schedule, design elements and access issues.
Caltrain, in cooperation with the City of San Mateo, is preparing to replace the bridges located at Tilton, Monte Diablo, Santa Inez and Poplar avenues. The four rail bridges in San Mateo’s North Central Neighborhood are more than 100 years old and do not meet current seismic safety standards. They must be replaced in order to maintain safe rail operations and meet federal, state and local seismic safety standards. Construction of the $30 million project will begin in July 2014 and will last approximately two years. For more project information or to subscribe to Caltrain’s San Mateo Bridges Replacement Project page, please visit www.caltrain.com/SMBridges. When: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.
Location: Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Social Room B, 725 Monte Diablo Ave., San Mateo, 94401
Notices will also be mailed next week to all residents living within a ½ mile of the project area.
