In September, the Downtown San Mateo Association (DSMA) is bringing public art to the downtown area. The DSMA will install a “Meter Garden” sculpture of eight decommissioned coin-operated parking meters arranged in a sidewalk landscaping planter. Seven meters will be painted by local artists and one will be painted by children from the Police Athletic League (PALS). Passersby can insert coins. Application deadline is August 23 at 5pm.
