Residents of the City of San Mateo are invited to submit applications to serve on the following City Boards and Commissions which have vacancies due to expiring terms. Application Deadline: Friday, June 24, 2011.

Personnel Board
Recommends rules and regulations concerning personnel matters, advises the City Manager regarding personnel matters, and hears appeals from City employees. This board was established in 1943 when the merit system was adopted for City employees.

Senior Citizens Commission
Established in 1986 to encourage, foster and facilitate programs for the enhancement of all matters relating to the social, economic and personal well being of the senior population. The Commission recommends to the Council establishment and funding of programs and service for senior citizens.
Meetings Date: 3rd Tuesday every other month
Meeting Time: 10:00am
