SMPD Officers responded to a request for assistance by Paramedics on scene at All American Self Storage, 2000 E. Third Ave. Paramedics had responded to a medical call at that location to discover the victim, who was deceased and appeared to be the victim of a stabbing. SMPD immediately initiated the Homicide Protocol and deployed numerous Officers and Detectives to the scene. SMPD received assistance from numerous neighboring agencies, the San Mateo County Forensic Lab, the Coroner’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office.

SMPD Established a crime scene perimeter, and spent the remainder of the day and night on Tuesday combing the area of All American Self Storage for evidence, interviewing potential witnesses, and initiating an extensive search for information to put together a clear picture of the events leading up to the homicide and blaze a trail leading them to the suspect.

Earlier today, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office identified the Homicide Victim as 33 year-old Justin Lockwood of Pacifica.

SMPD Detectives are continuing to utilize all available resources in a relentless effort to identify and arrest the suspect in this homicide. Due to the active and ongoing nature of their efforts in this investigation, there is no further information available at this time. SMPD will provide updated information as it becomes available.
